About this Intercooler

The NISSENS 96567 intercooler cools the air coming out of the turbocharger or supercharger before it enters the engine. Cooler air is denser, which helps performance and consistency, especially under repeated hard driving.

Frequently asked questions

What does an intercooler do?

Compressing air heats it up. The intercooler removes some of that heat, so the engine gets denser, cooler air, which reduces the risk of knock and helps the engine keep making power.

What are the benefits of an upgraded intercooler?

A larger or more efficient core keeps intake temperatures lower during repeated pulls or hot weather, reducing heat soak. The gain matters most on tuned engines running more boost than stock.

What are the signs of a leaking intercooler?

Loss of power, boost-related fault codes, oil residue on the intercooler or its hoses, or a hissing sound under boost. A boost leak test will confirm it.

Does an intercooler upgrade need a tune?

Most bolt-on intercoolers work without a tune, and they often complement one. Check the product details for fitment notes, such as bumper trimming or relocated parts.

How do I make sure this intercooler fits my car?

Compare the part numbers listed on this page with the number on your old part or in your vehicle's parts catalog, and check the fitment information. If you are unsure, contact us with your VIN before ordering.
