Our solution for a throttle body upgrade for the Carrera 3.2 intake manifold. This manifold is a common upgrade for the earlier aircooled cars as it is cheap, flows reasonably well and still looks like a factory component. The standard system uses a mechanical throttle body, with idle air bypass and an air flow meter. This results in a busy and cluttered engine bay.

Enter the AMS 3.2 Carrera DBW kit. An increase in airflow, throttle control, tuneability, simplicity and additional features depending on the engine control unit chosen. Increasing the throttle body diameter from 63mm to 74mm diameter.

Using our special adapter plate, with O-ring seals on both sides, and vacuum ports for fuel pressure regulator and other accessories, it is specially tapered to match the throttle body to the original port of the 3.2 intake manifold.

Additionally we provide filter adapter kits, precision machined, bead blasted and clear anodised for aesthetic looks and corrosion protection. Available in two options, a small filter, and large filter option.

  • No linkages, a more sensitive pedal, no linkage drag or friction in the bushes, bellcrank, or linkages.
  • Simplifies and tidies up engine bay
  • Additional features available from market leading ecus include, torque control, traction control, cruise control.

  • Bosch 74mm Throttle Body
  • Fasteners
  • Electrical connector kit
  • Adapter Plate, with O rings and vacuum fittings
  • Vacuum hose
  • Air filter adapter kit with O ring and fasteners
  • K&N Air filter (small or large, please choose the correct option)

And includes a choice of small or large K&N air filter kit. We generally recommend the small filter for street engines less than 3.6L. You can freely make up additional intake piping to relocate the filter to wherever you prefer.

The throttle should be installed and tuned by an experienced and trained person, including setting up the appropriate safety features found in normal performance ECU software.
