Bolted to the crankshaft, this flexible plate transmits the engine power to the torque tube. If you have a loud rattle noise at idle, small bits of rubber littering your garage floor, this is likely the culprit. The rubber material in this piece is getting to be pretty old, and with age, the rubber becomes brittle.
