At CTS Turbo we are proud to announce our new intercooler charge pipes for the B9 Audi A4, A5, AllRoad 1.8T/2.0T. The OEM charge piping uses a rubber hose as turbo outlet connection and plastic cold-side pipes with a flow-impeding "resonator". Factory piping is not optimized for performance; so we had to step in and make our charge pipe set of 2.5" aluminum mandrel-bent tube. Our parts replace soft turbo outlet hose and the small resonated plastic throttle body pipe. All of the components included in the CTS charge pipe set work flawlessly together to provide increased efficiency, horsepower and torque throughout the entire power-band. By removing the restricting resonator on the cold-side piping, you can enjoy a slight increase in turbo sound! Product Details:

The CTS TURBO CTS-IT-291 turbocharger uses exhaust energy to spin a turbine that drives a compressor, forcing more air into the engine. More air means more power from a smaller engine, and turbocharger health depends heavily on clean oil.

What are the signs of a failing turbocharger?

Loss of boost and power, a loud whine or siren sound, blue or grey smoke, oil in the intake pipes or intercooler, or boost-related fault codes.

What causes a turbocharger to fail?

Most failures come from oil problems, such as dirty oil, a blocked oil feed or late oil changes, and from foreign objects entering the turbine or compressor. Find and fix the cause before fitting the new turbo.

What should I replace along with the turbo?

Replace the oil feed and return lines or their seals, all gaskets and single-use fasteners, and change the oil and filter. Clean or replace the intercooler and pipes if the old turbo shed oil or debris into them.

Can I install a turbocharger myself?

It is an involved job with tight access and important oil-priming steps. Prime the turbo with oil before first start and let the engine idle to build oil pressure. An experienced technician is recommended.
