This tensioner pulley helps maintain proper tension on the accessory drive belt. Grinding or whirring noises coming from the pulley are signs that this component is about to go. While replacing this component, check all of your rollers for wear. If the rollers feel like they are grinding or are difficult to turn, replace them immediately.
