European Wiper Blade Size Chart: Audi, VW, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, MINI & Volvo
Most European cars don't use the same size blade on both sides. The driver blade is usually longer, and the difference is engineered in: each blade is sized for the arc its arm sweeps. Put a matched pair on, or guess one size up, and you get streaks at the edges or a blade that hits the trim.
This chart lists the front blade sizes for the European cars we see most, sorted by make and generation. Sizes are for US-market (left-hand drive) cars, so the driver side is the left side.
How to use this chart
- Find your generation. Sizes often change between generations of the same model, so match your model year to the right row. If your car sits right on a changeover year, check both rows.
- Check the passenger size too. On almost every car below, the two sides are different lengths.
- When in doubt, measure. Measure the rubber edge of the old blade end to end and round to the nearest inch. Sizes marked with an asterisk (*) have a note further down.
The blade also has to match your wiper arm's connector. More on that below.

Notes on sizes marked *
- VW Jetta Mk7: Rain-X and Trico list a 20" passenger blade; other databases list 19". Measure yours before ordering.
- Mercedes C-Class W205: the size is 22" on both sides for the whole run, but early cars use a different arm connector than later ones. Order by VIN or check your arm first.
- Mercedes GLE Coupe: the coupe takes a 23" passenger blade instead of 22".
- Mercedes Sprinter VS30: many vans have washer jets built into the wiper arm, and standard blades won't fit those arms.
- Porsche 911, Boxster and Cayman: the factory set is one 21" and one 22" blade, and sources disagree on which side gets which. The easy answer is the Genuine Porsche wiper blade set, which comes as a matched pair for these cars.
- Porsche Cayenne 92A: Bosch's matching set is 26" on both sides, but some owners find the passenger blade slightly long, and some databases list 24" / 24". Measure if you're unsure.
Rear wiper sizes
Rear blades vary more between sources, so measure the old one if your car isn't listed here. Sedans generally don't have one.
- VW Golf / GTI (Mk7, Mk8): 11" (Bosch rear blade for Golf and GTI)
- Audi Q3 (8U), Q5 / SQ5 (FY), Q7 (4M): 15"
- Audi Q5 / SQ5 (8R): 12"
- BMW X3 (F25): 13"
- BMW X5 (F15): 12"
- Mercedes GLC (X253), ML / GLE (W166): 12"
- MINI Cooper (F56), Countryman (F60): 10"
- Porsche Cayenne (9Y0): uses a Porsche-specific rear blade, so order it by part number.
Match the connector, not just the length
A blade can be the right length and still not fit. European cars use several different arm connectors: push button, pinch tab, side pin, hook and Mercedes' own top-lock style. Some cars changed connector partway through a generation. Most aftermarket blades come with adapters, but not every adapter kit covers every arm.
Before ordering, look at where the blade attaches to your arm and compare it to the product photos. Or contact us with your VIN and we'll confirm it.
Which blades to buy
- Genuine: the blades the dealer installs, in the carmaker's box. No guesswork on size or connector.
- Bosch and Valeo: both supply factory blades to European carmakers and sell their own versions for less. Bosch's beam blades and Valeo's blades are the safe choice for most drivers.

FAQ
Can I use a blade one size longer than listed?
We don't recommend it. A longer blade can hit the windshield trim at the end of its sweep or overlap the other blade. If you're between sizes, go with the size listed for your car.
Does any car on this chart use a 28-inch blade?
No. The longest front blades here are 26 inches. If a site recommends a 28-inch blade for one of these cars, double-check before buying.
Why do different websites list different sizes for my car?
Sizes can change mid-generation, some databases carry an old generation's data into the new one, and UK and Australian sites list right-hand-drive cars, where the sizes are often swapped. That's why this chart sticks to US-market cars and cross-checks every row against several sources.
How often should I replace my wiper blades?
Every 6 to 12 months, or sooner if they streak, chatter or leave a haze. Sun and heat age the rubber even when you don't use the wipers much.
How we built this chart: every size was cross-checked against at least two sources, including the Bosch, Trico and Rain-X fitment lookups, US fitment databases and factory part numbers. Where sources disagree, we say so in the notes above.
