These are exact reproductions of the RSR inner tie rods.  The solid tie rod design provides improved feedback over the standard or RS rubber links, without any significant increase in noise or ride harshness.  The 993 design fits all 993's, and 964's converted to RS uprights.  Now also available is an extended version to work with your 964 outer tie rod ends and stock uprights.  993 kit shown above.  Kits include two inner tie rods.

About this Tie Rod

The TARETT ENGINEERING 993RSRTR x2 & 964.009 x2 tie rod connects the steering rack to the steering knuckle, turning the wheels when you turn the steering wheel. Worn tie rods cause loose steering and uneven tire wear and must be replaced promptly.

What does a tie rod do?

It transmits steering movement from the rack to each front wheel and sets the wheel's toe angle. Inner and outer tie rods each have a joint that allows the suspension to move while you steer.

What are the signs of a worn tie rod?

Loose or vague steering, a clunk when turning, the car pulling or wandering, uneven wear on the inner or outer edge of the tires, or a torn rubber boot on the joint.

Do I need an alignment after replacing a tie rod?

Yes. Tie rods set toe, and even careful measuring cannot replace a proper alignment afterwards. Driving without one can wear tires quickly.

Should I replace inner and outer tie rods together?

Replace whichever joint is worn. If both are original and high-mileage, replacing them together, and doing both sides, avoids paying for a second alignment soon after.
