About this Cylinder Head Gasket

The ELRING KLINGER 451.343 cylinder head gasket seals the joint between the engine block and cylinder head, keeping combustion pressure, coolant and oil in their own passages. A failed head gasket can lead to overheating and serious engine damage.

What are the signs of a blown head gasket?

White exhaust smoke with a sweet smell, unexplained coolant loss, overheating, milky residue in the oil or under the filler cap, bubbles in the coolant tank, or a misfire on one cylinder. A combustion leak test can confirm it.
