The DS lineup that Ferodo has built is fantastic. There's a reason Ferodo pads are becoming more and more popular with the track day and racing scene, as the engineering that has gone into their racing pad development has created unmatched performance and longevity.

DS1.11 (W/WB)

The DS1.11 is part of a chemical family known as Siloxanes, which do not decompose at high temperatures. This means that these pads keep working at extremely high temperatures exceeding that of which the pad would ever see on the race track. Thus, these pads will not fade and have excellent life (the best in the Ferodo Lineup, in fact).

Boasting an extremely flat torque curve and a medium/high level of friction. The pad compression is always low so pedal travel is short and consistent. If you're after more an endurance-type pad that you can thrash all day and without fade, lasts a long time, and is easy on rotors, the DS1.11 is a great choice.

                      About these Brake Pads

                      The FERODO RACING FCP451W brake pads are the friction material that presses against the brake rotors to stop the car. Pad compound affects stopping power, pedal feel, noise and brake dust, and pads are always replaced as a set for both wheels on an axle.

                      Frequently asked questions

                      What are the signs that my brake pads are worn?

                      A brake-pad warning light, a squeal or grinding noise when braking, longer stopping distances, or less than about 3 mm of pad material visible through the wheel. Grinding usually means the backing plate is touching the rotor and needs immediate attention.

                      Do I need new rotors with new pads?

                      Check the rotors' thickness against the minimum stamped on them and look for grooves or vibration. Rotors that are worn, scored or below minimum thickness should be replaced with the pads so the new pads bed in on a fresh surface.

                      Do I need a new pad wear sensor?

                      On many European cars, yes. The sensor is designed to be worn through by the pad; once the warning has come on, or if the sensor was damaged during removal, it has to be replaced.

                      How do I break in new brake pads?

                      Follow the pad maker's bedding procedure, usually several moderate stops from speed without coming to a complete stop, then letting the brakes cool. Avoid hard stops for the first few hundred miles.
