About this Tail Light

The TYC 11-6801-00-1 tail light makes your car visible from behind and shows when you brake and signal. A cracked lens or failed LED unit lets moisture in and can make the lights fail or look dim.

Frequently asked questions

When should I replace a tail light?

When the lens is cracked or broken, the housing lets moisture in, LED sections have failed, or the light no longer works properly after the bulbs or connections have been checked.

Does the tail light come with bulbs?

It depends on the product. Bulb-type lights may or may not include bulbs and holders, while LED tail lights usually have built-in LEDs. Check the product details.

Are left and right tail lights the same?

No. Tail lights are side-specific, and many cars have separate outer lights on the body and inner lights on the trunk or tailgate. Check the position in the product title and fitment.

Can I replace a tail light myself?

Usually, yes. Most are held by nuts or clips accessible from inside the trunk. Make sure the new light's seal sits correctly to keep water out of the trunk.

How do I make sure this tail light fits my car?

Compare the part numbers listed on this page with the number on your old part or in your vehicle's parts catalog, and check the fitment information. If you are unsure, contact us with your VIN before ordering.
