In early 2.0T engine codes, the stock intake cam has been known to fail due to improper hardness during the manufacturing process. The lobe that the fuel pump follower rides on can wear down over time and cause the fuel pump to be overworked causing it to overheat and seize up. Once this happens, the side cover on the cylinder head breaks off the head causing major damage and very expensive repair costs.
