About these Coilovers

The H&R 28851-11 coilover kit replaces your car's springs and shock absorbers with matched, adjustable units. Coilovers let you set ride height, and on many kits damping, to suit how you drive, from a lowered daily driver to track use.

Frequently asked questions

What are the benefits of coilovers?

Adjustable ride height, springs and dampers that are matched to each other, and on many kits adjustable damping. The result is sharper handling and a lower stance than factory suspension.

Will coilovers make my ride harsher?

Usually firmer than stock, depending on the kit and settings. Street-focused kits aim for a firm but comfortable ride; track-oriented kits are stiffer. Setting a sensible ride height and damping helps keep comfort acceptable.

What should I do after installing coilovers?

Let the suspension settle, recheck the ride height, then have a four-wheel alignment. Recheck all fasteners after the first few hundred miles, and keep the threaded bodies clean, especially in winter.

Will coilovers work with my wheels and tires?

Lowering reduces clearance between the tire and fender and can change clearance to the coilover body itself. Check wheel offset, tire size and the kit's recommended ride height range before setting the car low.

How do I make sure this coilover kit fits my car?

Compare the part numbers listed on this page with the number on your old part or in your vehicle's parts catalog, and check the fitment information. If you are unsure, contact us with your VIN before ordering.
