This small roller can often seize up and cause timing belt failure. As such, it is extremely important that you replace it when doing timing belt service. When an idler pulley fails, it is usually the bearings that go bad. Though it does little more than track the belt, if it is not spinning properly, the belt can wear and break prematurely. Replace yours with a unit from Euromotiv.
