Engineered & Enhanced

At the core of our TTE750 upgrade stage is a larger BorgWarner compressor wheel, chosen because it is highly efficient and creates an extremely high flow for comparative size. Re-Profiled compressor cover to optimised tolerance to ensure maximum compressor efficiency is given.

Special profile 360 deg high-performance motorsport journal bearing is fitted, to remain durable at higher loads with no loss in transient response. The actuator used is sprung OE unit set at 0.8bar crack pressure(1.0bar if wanted)


Equilibrium

Precisely balancing our turbochargers is a key critical factor to become a TTE upgrade unit as longevity and performance are paramount. Good balance improves acoustics also. Subsequent great care is taken with all TTE turbochargers to achieving our balance standards. Firstly parts are balanced at slow speeds up to 2800RPM in multiple planes using our single parts machine, then components are assembled and then the CHRA are dynamically balanced, but this time depending on the application at up to 250,000 RPM in multiple planes using our in-house VSR machine to acquire the ultimate equilibrium, to a standard far higher than OEM. Each turbocharger is supplied with a serial numbered balance test result document.

    About this Turbocharger

    The THE TURBO ENGINEERS TTE10064 turbocharger uses exhaust energy to spin a turbine that drives a compressor, forcing more air into the engine. More air means more power from a smaller engine, and turbocharger health depends heavily on clean oil.

    What are the signs of a failing turbocharger?

    Loss of boost and power, a loud whine or siren sound, blue or grey smoke, oil in the intake pipes or intercooler, or boost-related fault codes.

    What causes a turbocharger to fail?

    Most failures come from oil problems, such as dirty oil, a blocked oil feed or late oil changes, and from foreign objects entering the turbine or compressor. Find and fix the cause before fitting the new turbo.

    What should I replace along with the turbo?

    Replace the oil feed and return lines or their seals, all gaskets and single-use fasteners, and change the oil and filter. Clean or replace the intercooler and pipes if the old turbo shed oil or debris into them.

    Can I install a turbocharger myself?

    It is an involved job with tight access and important oil-priming steps. Prime the turbo with oil before first start and let the engine idle to build oil pressure. An experienced technician is recommended.
