When adding the horsepower (heat) of the Stage 2 software upgrade for the Gen3 engine, it is recommended to use a colder set of spark plugs to maintain efficiency and avoid engine damage. These plugs are 2 heat ranges colder to avoid pre-ignition yet provide enough heat to avoid fouling. When adding over 100 horsepower to your engine, the correct plug set is extremely important. These plugs will also need to be changed out more frequently than standard plugs.
