This intake system has been developed to offer the highest possible flow rate whilst maintaining the lowest intake temperatures possible. Each component has been designed to provide the turbo with a smooth and free flowing path. The intake tube has an internal diameter of 103mm or just over 4″ and has a smooth curvature from the filter housing all the way to the turbo inlet. The filter itself has been specifically designed for this intake and has a huge outer diameter of 210mm or 8.3″ with a filtration surface area of over 130,000mm^2. The patented Venturi housing has been designed to provide the maximum internal volume possible for the RSQ3 engine bay space available and provides laminar flow to the turbo tube. Finally the duct seals the filter opening to the front slam panel but is not restricted by just the stock entry feed. We have lifted the front of the duct to now provide an extra opening behind the hood which is equivalent to an extra 7″ diameter hole for the intake to draw from. The resulting system has the capability of flowing 840 CFM at 28″ H2O while keeping intake temperatures at a minimum with the sealed design.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe Eventuri F3 RSQ3 intake system consists of a number of components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards. It was developed to achieve two objectives 1) Maintain low inlet temperatures. 2) De-restrict the turbo inlet path. The first objective was met by enclosing the filter inside a carbon airbox and using the stock seal against the hood to block out the heat soak from the engine. Since the intake sits directly behind the radiator it is crucial that the filter is not exposed which would result in a loss of power through high IAT. The second objective was met by removing the flexible tubing and optimising the inlet path with a Venturi stack connected directly to the filter. Furthermore, we added a second inlet to the airbox with a scoop pulling in air from the inner wing area. This almost doubles the total cross sectional area through which the turbo can draw from as compared with the single entry on the stock system. The patented Venturi housing has been designed to provide the maximum internal volume possible for the Golf engine bay space available and provides laminar flow to the turbo tube. Finally the duct seals the filter opening to the front slam panel but is not restricted by just the stock entry feed. We have lifted the front of the duct to now provide an extra opening behind the hood which is equivalent to an extra 7″ diameter hole for the intake to draw from. It fits inside the OEM slam panel area and smoothly transitions to the circular filter housing shape. In order to ensure a good seal against engine bay heat - it also has a flexible rubber edging around the opening which presses against the filter housings creating the desired seal yet allowing the housing to move with the engine. Since this was designed to support high power builds, we found that the stock openings in the slam panel could cause a restriction at high flow demand. So we lifted the top surface of the duct and created an opening above the slam panel which is able to draw in cold air from behind the hood shut. This extra opening is equivalent to a hole with a diameter of over 7\" and completely de-restricts the stock cold air feed. The duct was designed to have the maximum internal volume possible within the given geometry of the engine bay. We partnered with BMC for a bespoke filter element to ensure that the filtration area is as large as possible whilst keeping airflow clean. With all objectives met, our C8 RS6 intake system delivers on all fronts and allows for the turbos to generate boost more efficiently. Crafted from Prepreg Carbon Fiber, the airbox serves 2 objectives - to seal the filter against engine bay heat and to provide a dual cold air feed. Since the airbox is positioned next to the exhaust manifold it is crucial for the filter to be fully sealed so we designed the airbox to encapsulate the filter and at the same time provide a large internal volume. To seal the intake tube we have designed a laser cut plate with a rubber sealing strip which secures to the airbox. The intake tube passes through the plate and the rubber seal ensures heated air does not enter the airbox. To further minimize heat soak, there is an additional heat shield with a gold reflective layer on the exhaust manifold side which effectively combats the radiant heat transfer.Having a fully sealed airbox results in the problem of having a restriction for the cold air feed. The stock airbox draws air from a single duct which extends to the front bumper area. During development we identified another area to draw cold air from which was a gap between the wheel arch and the chassis on which the airbox sits. To utilize this feed we extended a scoop at the back of our design which protrudes into the wheel arch and can even be seen after installation behind the front wheel. This second feed allows the turbo to draw from a larger area therefore reducing the restriction. The Eventuri Difference The G2X M340i \/ M440i \/ G42 M240i B58 Eventuri system uses our Patented Carbon Fiber Housings with our Gen 2 bespoke filters, which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos. We therefore completely re-engineered the inlet track from the turbo inlet pipe to the front grill with a highly efficient sealed system. The restrictive stock airbox and flexible plastic inlet pipe have been replaced with a Venturi filter housing and a duct system with smooth transitions. Furthermore, by removing the convoluted stock inlet pipe and replacing it with our one-piece Venturi housing and solid tube, the airflow is much smoother as it enters the turbo inlet tube. Heat and Volume are the main considerations when designing an intake for turbocharged engines. In the G20, the intake system is located next to the exhaust manifold which rapidly heat soaks the engine bay. High temperatures are detrimental for engine performance as the turbo would have to build boost with heated, less dense air and so the only way to ensure IAT's are kept to a minimum is for a fully sealed intake. This however, results in a restriction with only one stock air feed to draw air in from. During development we noticed an additional opening into the wheel arch area and took advantage of this by adding a secondary feed to our airbox. The stock convoluted intake tube is replaced with a smooth carbon tube which is also larger in internal volume with a starting internal diameter of 111mm smoothly tapering down to match the turbo inlet. The tube provides a smooth path from the filter to the turbo inlet. Finally we use a custom made high-flow dry filter which is ISO tested for filtration performance and has a larger filtration area than the stock filter. Crafted from Prepreg Carbon Fiber, the airbox serves 2 objectives - to seal the filter against engine bay heat and to provide a dual cold air feed. Since the airbox is positioned next to the exhaust manifold it is crucial for the filter to be fully sealed so we designed the airbox to encapsulate the filter and at the same time provide a large internal volume. To seal the intake tube we have designed a laser cut plate with a rubber sealing strip which secures to the airbox. The intake tube passes through the plate and the rubber seal ensures heated air does not enter the airbox. To further minimise heat soak, there is an additional heat shield with a gold reflective layer on the exhaust manifold side which effectively combats the radiant heat transfer. Having a fully sealed airbox results in the problem of having a restriction for the cold air feed. The stock airbox draws air from a single duct which extends to the front bumper area. During development we identified another area to draw cold air from which was a gap between the wheel arch and the chassis on which the airbox sits. To utilise this feed we extended a scoop at the back of our design which protrudes into the wheel arch and can even be seen after installation behind the front wheel. This second feed allows the turbo to draw from a larger area therefore reducing the restriction.
