While the additional flow does not translate to any noteworthy rise in power output for stock or basic bolt-on equipped vehicles, the Dinan intake system does expand the potential of the platforms power ceiling. Put simply, those striving to build a more potent and robust solution, complete with turbo and fueling upgrades, will be allowed to maximize the results without worry of the intake system being a limiting factor. Regardless of the level of build, the secondary air inlets allow the intake system to be more audible so the turbo spool and BOV can be appreciated. A stark difference from Dinan's traditional fully sealed systems where induction noise is not nearly as recognizable. Not to be outdone by the increased flow and sound, the outwardly visible system is made of immaculate carbon fiber so the under the hood appeal is vastly improved over its drab and utilitarian beginnings. In and of itself, making it worth the price of admission.

  • Outflows factory intake by 58% or more.
  • Enjoyably louder, sportier sound.
  • Beautifully crafted carbon fiber construction (lid and tube).
  • Improved throttle response.
  • Larger volume air box (60% larger than stock).
  • 40% increase in filter area (stock: 82 in², Dinan: 115 in²) for optimum flow.
  • Compatible with all G2x x30i's with and without factory bracing.
  • Quick and easy installation.

For those who already own a non-brace compatible Dinan intake (D760-0055) but now want to run braces without purchasing a completely new intake kit you can order the retrofit kit (lid and hardware) seperately for $84.95. To do so contact the tech sales department at 1-800-341-5480 and request part number D763-0185.

About this Cold Air Intake

The DINAN D760-0059 air intake system replaces the factory airbox and intake tube to let the engine breathe more freely. Intakes typically bring a sportier induction sound and can improve throttle response, especially on turbocharged engines.

Frequently asked questions

How much power does an intake add?

Gains vary with the engine and are usually modest on a stock car; turbocharged engines and cars with other modifications tend to benefit more. Many buyers choose an intake as much for the sound and response as for power.

Is this intake legal in California?

In California and states that follow its rules, an aftermarket intake must have a CARB Executive Order (EO) number for the specific vehicle to be street legal. Check the product details for an EO number before buying for road use in those states.

Will an intake cause a check-engine light?

A quality intake designed for your car should not. Problems usually come from a poorly sealed connection, a damaged sensor, or over-oiled filters contaminating the mass air flow sensor.

How do I maintain the filter?

Inspect it regularly. Reusable filters can be cleaned and, if they are oiled, re-oiled lightly using the maker's kit. Dry filters can be cleaned or replaced according to the maker's instructions.

How do I make sure this air intake system fits my car?

Compare the part numbers listed on this page with the number on your old part or in your vehicle's parts catalog, and check the fitment information. If you are unsure, contact us with your VIN before ordering.
